Ele tamb\u00e9m altera a margem t\u00e9rmica de um resistor, o comportamento parasita e a estabilidade da resist\u00eancia em circuitos reais.<\/p><p>Pacotes maiores dissipam o calor de forma mais eficiente, portanto, um resistor 1206 geralmente funcionar\u00e1 de maneira mais fria do que um resistor 0402 sob a mesma carga de pot\u00eancia. Se o pacote for pequeno demais para a dissipa\u00e7\u00e3o real, o resultado pode ser desvio de valor, vida \u00fatil reduzida, estresse na junta de solda ou at\u00e9 mesmo danos \u00e0 placa de circuito impresso.<\/p><p>Em frequ\u00eancias mais altas, o tamanho do encapsulamento tamb\u00e9m se torna parte do comportamento el\u00e9trico. Resistores maiores, como os de encapsulamento 1206 ou 2512, geralmente adicionam mais indut\u00e2ncia e capacit\u00e2ncia parasitas do que os de encapsulamento 0402 ou 0201. Em circuitos comuns de baixa frequ\u00eancia, isso raramente importa. Em linhas USB de alta velocidade, trilhas de RF ou fontes de alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o de comuta\u00e7\u00e3o r\u00e1pida, isso pode se tornar parte do problema de integridade do sinal, raz\u00e3o pela qual um encapsulamento menor pode ser uma escolha de desempenho, e n\u00e3o apenas uma escolha para economizar espa\u00e7o.<\/p><p>O TCR \u00e9 especificado pela s\u00e9rie de resistores e pelo datasheet, n\u00e3o apenas pelo tamanho do encapsulamento. Frequentemente, representa um bom equil\u00edbrio entre layout compacto e retrabalho manual.<\/li><li>0402 \u2014 Soldagem manual poss\u00edvel, mas com muito menos toler\u00e2ncia. Geralmente s\u00e3o necess\u00e1rios aumento e uma ponta ultrafina, especialmente para retrabalhos repetidos.<\/li><li>0201 e 01005 \u2014 \u00c9 melhor trat\u00e1-los como pacotes com soldagem por refluxo. A montagem manual \u00e9 poss\u00edvel com ar quente, pasta de solda, amplia\u00e7\u00e3o e experi\u00eancia, mas n\u00e3o s\u00e3o ideais para placas que podem necessitar de reparo manual.<\/li><\/ul><p>De fato, na fabrica\u00e7\u00e3o moderna de PCBA, resistores SMD s\u00e3o geralmente manuseados por meio de produ\u00e7\u00e3o SMT padr\u00e3o, em vez de soldagem manual. A pasta de solda \u00e9 impressa por stencil, os componentes s\u00e3o colocados por m\u00e1quinas pick-and-place e a placa passa ent\u00e3o por reflow. Este processo torna at\u00e9 mesmo encapsulamentos pequenos pr\u00e1ticos para produ\u00e7\u00e3o em volume.<\/p><p>Isso n\u00e3o significa que pacotes pequenos sejam isentos de riscos. Eles ainda dependem de um design de stencil preciso, controle de posicionamento e um perfil de refus\u00e3o est\u00e1vel. Para a pasta de solda sem chumbo SAC305 comum, as temperaturas de pico geralmente ficam entre 235\u2013250\u00b0C, dependendo da pasta, espessura da PCB, distribui\u00e7\u00e3o de cobre e configura\u00e7\u00e3o do forno.
